St. Clare of Assisi Men’s Club Minutes, November 7th, 2011
50 Members, 4 officers, No priests at start
Called to order at 7:42
Opening Prayer led by George Smith – remained standing for Pledge of Allegiance
Minutes from the October 2011 meeting were read – motion to accept Bill Cannon, seconded and carried
Treasury report was read – We increased our fundage due to Oktoberfest putting another $12,000 on top of the $6,700 we had. All Oktoberfest bills are not in, so it will come down some. Motion to accept Bill Cannon 2nd Ed Kertz – carried
OLD BUSINESS
Parkway Bob was called upon to speak about Oktoberfest , he declined. Prez Henty then spoke of getting together to more formally document committee duties. He thanked Parkway, the committee chairs and all the volunteers for a job very well done.
Don Seiler gave special thanks to Bill Deemer for his tremendous help in the area of sponsorships.
Special thanks were also given to all sellers of 50/50 tickets, especially those selling at Oktoberfest. Remember that cash goes straight to the bottom line.
Pig Roast – Mr Henty has stepped into the chairperson role for lack of any other volunteer.
It will run much like a fish fry, all planning is in the works – Big Catch – NO PIG YET.
Volunteers are needed for this January 27th fundraising event.
Lou Pavia once again has laid the ground work for letters and care packages to our boys in the military. The packages will have a Christmas theme. Need nice stuff and/or cash to pull it together. Please have donations in by Thanksgiving. Motion to put Men’s Club portion of tonight’s 50/50 drawing toward care packages was heard and passed.
Entertainment books still for sale.
NEW BUSINESS
Christmas Party will be December the 8that Alibi 25. We will have mixed drinks, carbonated beverages and HEAVY appetizers. Please bring a door prize and an unwrapped toy for the kids.
RCIA luncheon is this Sunday, November 13th. A few volunteers are needed.
Santa breakfast was mentioned, but no firm date was known.
Teachers lunch was also brought up. All hoped that Lou Jr was once again on top of that.
Clarions annual Christmas party to be held on December 10thfor the low price of $25.
Please pay your dues.
