Corpus Christi Procession Join us in a procession with the Blessed Sacrament! We are taking Jesus into the streets of Ellisville! The Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, more popularly known as Corpus Christi Sunday, will be on June 6th this year. However, as a parish family, we will have a special Eucharistic procession at the end of the 5:00 pm June 5th Vigil Mass. What does this mean practically? It means that at the conclusion of the 5pm Mass, the priest will expose the Blessed Sacrament on the altar. He will pick up the monstrance and carry Our Lord out of the church followed by faithful Catholics in procession, joining in song and prayer. We will process first to Cherry Hill Drive, where we will stop and pray. Then, we will proceed to the Passionist Chapel where we will also stop and pray. Finally, we will return to St. Clare Church for Benediction. All in all, it should last some 45 minutes following the 5pm Mass. We would love to have you and your families join the Corpus Christi procession – it is a beautiful way to adore the Lord in a unique and very public way. Pope Benedict XVI said of Eucharistic processions, “we immerse Christ, so to speak, ‘in the daily routine of our lives, so that he may walk where we walk and live where we live…The procession represents an immense and public blessing for our city.’” Let’s bring Jesus into our city and declare our strong belief for Jesus in the Eucharist.
